Abilities

Prefer to play the player not the cards? Every playable character comes with a unique set of game-affecting abilities designed to favour a particular play style. You can tweak your chosen character further by unlocking and adding additional abilities to his or her mental build.

To use an active ability you must spend Cunning. You start each game with a character-specific amount of Cunning. Once you have spent all of your Cunning, further ability use counts against your final score. Each ability’s cost in Cunning is listed below.

Green Abilities

Active abilities that are available for all characters from the start.

Blue Abilities

Active, character-specific abilities that you unlock through progression.

Pink Abilities

Character exclusive abilities that trigger automatically.

EXPOSE | 1

Information is king! Find out what hole cards an opponent played. You do not have to remain in a hand to trigger Expose but you must use it before the hand is over.  The cards will be revealed after the hand is over.

ADD TIME | 4

Take your time! Put another 10 seconds on the clock. Once you trigger Add Time none of your opponents can rush you by triggering Call Clock.

CALL CLOCK | 3

Apply pressure by reducing a selected opponent’s time to act to 3 seconds. You can’t call on Fingers. You do not have to still be in a hand to trigger Call Clock. Native to Hollywood. Reach Rounder status with Hollywood to unlock.

MIND TRICK | 4

Sacrifice 5 chips to increase your Cunning by 8 after the current hand is over. The increase applies for the ongoing tournament only. Native to Fingers. Reach Rounder Status with Fingers to unlock.

TOP UP | 4+

If you are not eliminated after the current hand is over then add 5 chips to your stack.  The Cunning cost increases by 1 every time Top Up is used during a game. Native to Bigstack. Reach Rounder status with Bigstack to unlock.

INSURE | 6

Folding is for fools! If you face a bet and trigger Insure you will call the bet be treated as if the call puts you all-in. All further raises and calls made by other players will go into a side pot. Native to Gung Ho. Reach Rounder status to unlock.

HOUSE RULES | GENERAL

Your casino. Your rules. Whenever you win a hand playing as the General you get the dealer button and will be last to act. Native to General.

IN FOR THE MAX | BIGSTACK

Gain the upper hand. Whenever you play as Bigstack your starting stack will be 65 chips instead of 50. Native to Bigstack.

READ & WEEP | SHUFFLER

Set that trap! Gain 4 Cunning whenever you win a showdown with two face cards. Native to Shuffler.

SWAP | 3+

Turn the tables by swapping out one of your hole cards for another one in your deck. If Swap is triggered multiple times during the same hand the cost of triggering it increases by one each time.

REBUY | 7

It aint over till it’s over! Secure another 10 chip stack if you are eliminated. Rebuy must be activated while the hand is still ongoing. If you are not eliminated Rebuy will not trigger. Native to Cat. Reach Rounder status with Cat to unlock.

MECHANIC'S GRIP | 5

Discard your remaining cards, reshuffle your deck and randomly draw an equal number of new cards after the current hand is over. Native to Shuffler. Reach Rounder status with Hollywood to unlock.

SOUL READ | 4

Trust your instincts! Reveal reveal six random cards that any opponent has already played. Soul Read will not trigger if there are less than six unknown cards to reveal. Native to Wunderkind. Reach Rounder status to unlock.

EYE IN THE SKY | 7

Use that home court advantage! Immediately reveal one of a selected opponent’s hole cards. You can only trigger Eye in Sky when it is your turn to act. Native to General. Reach Rounder status with General to unlock.

SIXTH SENSE | WUNDERKIND

See straight through your opponents. Whenever someone else uses Expose you automatically gain that knowledge too. Native to Wunderkind.

SHOWBOAT | HOLLYWOOD

Agitate players into making bad calls and even worse bluffs. Gain 4 Cunning whenever you eliminate an opponent. Native to Hollywood.

PHOENIX | CAT

Stage an epic comeback! Whenever you make Rebuy, your new stack will consist of 15 chips instead of 10. Native to Cat.

CHICKENS | GUNG HO

Take command of the table! Receive 2 extra chips whenever you win a hand that does not go to showdown. Native to Gung Ho.

FEAR THE FIST | FINGERS

Give everyone the mother of all evil eyes and prevent Call Clock from being used on you. Native to Fingers
